I sat down and air was blowing right in eyes. You see, the overhead
air vents were turned on "high" on my seat in the plane. Then as the
plane was filling up, I heard coughing a few rows behind me... it was I
phlgem based cough. Yuck!
Do you ever get sick when you fly?
I travel
quite a bit but I don't get sick often. I don't like the airplane food,
it's terrible. Lines are often crowded most times. I start packing a
week early before my trip to make sure I didn't get to my destination
without a piece of clothing that I wanted to be wearing. Would I have
shoes to match this outfit? I didn't want to have to go their and buy
more stuff, more clothes, toiletries. It was more money spent that I
didn't need to spend.
Stay Away From Germ Land
Before a long flight a few days before, I start upping my dose of
vitamin c. I use Emergen-C or Airborne effervecent supplement to help
boost my immune system. Just throw one of these products in water and it
fizzes up and you drink it. I make sure I eat good on the plane. I
bring food from home that I made or head out to Whole foods to get a
light meal such as a salad to eat on the plane. I do have to get my
drinks such as tea, water after security check. I makes sure I have
extra water. When I book my seat, I try to get the "emergency exit" row
as there is more leg room. Now it depends of the plane but certain
planes has more leg room on the front aisle seat where I can extend my
legs fully. I bring sanitary wipes and wipe everything down I touch
around my seat - where I rest my head, arms especially where the volume
and channel buttons are, collapsible table, Don't point the air in your
eyes. A third, if not, most of the air in the plane is recycled.
Action step: Try and book emergency exit row for your seats for more leg
room for the same price (only drawback is that you cannot recline the
back of your chair. Go get extra vitamin c and have it handy a few days
and start loading up on it. Have travel size alcohol or anti-bacterial
sanitary wipes in your bag. Eat healthy during your travel - something
packed with nutrients that's easy on the digestive system. And don't
point the vents directly at your face!
Carry It All in One Bag
I hate wasting time waiting for my bag. Then grab a cab or shuttle to my
home or hotel and listening to annoying people staying "why is it
taking so long?"
Travel without having to check-in baggage. Take one bag with all your
clothes.. waiting for baggage claim area. Then you are waiting for your
Taxi or shuttle ride.
Remember This!: Travel light, one hand bag - no check in's and a brief
case or computer bag. Plan a carry on to have clothes for a trip 2 weeks
long. (Use laundry service if you need to) Have one pair of business
shoes and for you, ladies, shoes that match with all outfits. Bring one
pair of sneakers.
Great Customer Service Is Worth It
I love a hotel with a staff that jumps. I don't ask for much but I'd
like to know they offer an array of service - laundry, dry cleaning etc.
Have a gym facility you have access to all day. I like a clean room.
Check your pillow once you walk in and do an overview of the entire
place. I'm not a clean freak buy my bed has to be very clean. Even
simple thing like not having enough electric sockets to plug in
electronic devices is trouble some. I've had some in some rooms I've
stayed in.
